Fatal Collision SR 46 East At Golden Hill Road.

Paso Robles, CA – On Saturday, July 1, 2023, at about 5:06 p.m., the Paso Robles Police Department received a report of a traffic collision with possible injuries at SR 46 and Golden Hill Rd. Officers arrived on scene and located two involved vehicles, a white minivan and a black motorcycle. The rider of the motorcycle was found deceased at the scene. This collision is still an active investigation and motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes until about 7:00pm.

Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor to this collision. The names of the involved parties are being withheld at this time.

Child Struck By Vehicle Sunday Evening.

Paso Robles, CA- On Sunday, June 18, 2023, at approximately 6:15pm, Paso Robles Police Department received a report of a traffic collision involving a juvenile pedestrian at Cedarwood Dr. and Teak Dr. Officers arrived and located a male juvenile (8 years old) who had been struck by a vehicle which was traveling westbound on Cedarwood Drive.

The juvenile sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this incident. During the preliminary investigation, it appears as if the juvenile, who was riding a self-propelled scooter, may not have looked for approaching vehicles prior to crossing the street. The vehicle was reportedly driving slowly, about 10-15 MPH, but was unable to avoid the collision. Vegetation Fire Breaks Out On Dry Creek Road Thursday Afternoon

PASO ROBLES, CA – At 2:22 p.m. on Thursday June 15, Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services was dispatched to the area of 2550 Dry Creek Road for a reported vegetation fire. The first arriving unit reported approximately ¼ acre burning under the power lines at a slow rate of spread with structures in the area. Access to the fire was impeded due to a downed power line and the fire being dissected by multiple fences. Fire was fully controlled at .77 acres at 4:55 p.m. Three fire engines, a prevention officer, a battalion chief from Paso Robles Fire and one water tender from Paso Robles Public Works responded. Under the City’s Automatic Aid Agreement with Cal Fire / SLO County Fire three engines, one air attack, one dozer, and a battalion chief responded to assist in containing the fire. Additional assistance was provided by PG&E. Cause of the fire was determined to be from a downed power line following a bird strike.

Paso Robles Police Arrest One On Weapons Violations.

On Wednesday June 14, 2023, at approximately 2:00 am, a Paso Robles Police Officer was flagged down by a citizen at the Golden Hill Mobil gas station, 2401 Golden Hills Rd in Paso Robles, to report a suspicious vehicle and person at the gas pumps. As the suspicious vehicle left the gas station, arriving Officers stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, Carlos Davis 38, of Santa Barbara County). Davis was found to have a fixed bladeknife concealed in his waistband, and he was arrested for the concealed knife. A search of the vehicle yielded ammunition, pepper spray, a stab resistant vest, a stun gun, and a replica Glock handgun. In addition, a scanner was located with the channel set to “police”, along with a black ski mask,and duct tape. Davis was booked at SLO Count Jail on multiple felony charges.

Paso Robles Police Make 2nd Arrest in May Robbery

PASO ROBLES – On the morning of 6/2/2023, Paso Robles Police Department detectives located the second robbery suspect, Leonel Herrejon Sanchez, in the city of Rohnert Park. He was taken into custody without incident in the 7600 Block of Camino Colegio. Sanchez was later booked into the SLO County Jail on numerous felony charges stemming from the robbery.

Paso Robles Police Make Arrest, School Shooting Threat

PASO ROBLES, CA – On 5/30/2023 at approximately 1229 hours, Officers from the Paso Robles Police Department responded to the Paso Robles High School (801 Niblick Rd.) regarding a threat of a school shooting. During a routine bathroom check, the Paso Robles High School safety staff discovered a message written in marker on the inside of a stall in the boy’s bathroom. The message was considered hate speech and the message read there will be a school shooting on 5/31/23. The Paso Robles Police Department takes all threats of this nature very seriously and an investigation was immediately initiated.

Paso Robles Police School Resource Officers, with the help of school safety staff, quickly identified a suspect. The suspect is a student at Paso Robles High School and was identified as Levi Harrington (18 years old of Paso Robles). He was immediately taken into custody without incident. He was later booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on the charges of 422 PC – Criminal Threats and 422.7 PC – Hate Crime (both felonies).

Through the investigation and subsequent search of the suspect’s residence, Officers determined there is no imminent or ongoing threat to the school, students, or faculty.

Residential Structure Fire On Clydesdale Circle Saturday Afternoon.

PASO ROBLES, CA – At approximately 12:02 p.m. on Saturday May 27th, Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to the 600 block of Clydesdale Circle for a reported residential structure fire.

The initial arriving apparatus reported a single-family residential structure with heavy fire involvement in the attic. Fire was contained to the attic with no fire extension to the living area within the initial ten minutes of arrival. Occupants were not home at the time of the fire and three dogs were safely evacuated from the home by fire personnel.

Crews remained on scene until 3:40 p.m. conducting overhaul to extinguish hot spots within the attic and salvage operations to protect the contents of the homeowners.

Three fire engines, and a Battalion Chief from Paso Robles Fire responded to the incident. Under the City’s automatic aid agreement, one engine and one Battalion Chief from Cal Fire/SLO County Fire and one engine from Atascadero Fire responded. In total, fifteen firefighters worked to quickly contain the fire.

Additional assistance was provided by Paso Robles Police Department, PG&E, and San Luis Ambulance Service.

Further investigation determined the cause of the fire was an electrical equipment malfunction.

Paso Robles Police To Hold Active Shooter Training.

PASO ROBLES, CA – The Paso Robles Police Department will be holding active shooter training in the Paso Robles City Council Chamber and the City Library (1000 block of Spring) on Thursday June 1st 2023, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. The City Council Chamber, City Hall and the City Library will not be open to public access during this event.

Residents visiting the area should not be alarmed by the increased presence of law enforcement during this exercise. The Police Department is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all citizens within our community.

Paso Robles Police Respond To Burglary In Progress Sunday Morning

PASO ROBLES, CA – On 05/21/2023 at approx. 1208 hours, officers from the Paso Robles Police Department responded to the 300 block of Montebello Oaks for a report of a residential burglary in progress. The victim was not home but was alerted by their RING camera of the activity.

The responding patrol officers discovered an occupied vehicle in the driveway.

One of the suspects, Eliana PaloPomar (35 years of Los Angeles), was in the driver’s seat. Inside the vehicle officers recovered a significant number of items which had been stolen from the residence. A second suspect who was involved in this burglary fled on foot and is still outstanding. A K9 was used to search the area which led to the recovery of burglary tools, and several articles of the suspect’s clothing which was seized as evidence. The suspect is described as a light skinned, male, 25-35 years old, last seen wearing black pants and black and white Nike shoes.

Paso Robles Police Make Robbery Arrest, One Still Outstanding.

PASO ROBLES – On 05/15/2023 at around 8:20 p.m., the Paso Robles Police Department responded to a robbery in the 1200 block of Alamo Creek, in the Dry Creek Apartment complex.

A caller reported two men forced a family at gunpoint into an apartment and robbed them of personal belongings. Police raced to the scene, but both suspects fled prior to our arrival.

As the investigation began, we learned the two men allegedly responsible were Leonel Herrejon Sanchez (33, Paso Robles) and Angel Chavez (19, Paso Robles). Our investigation also led us to Walmart where Chavez was seen on surveillance footage attempting to use a credit card belonging to one of the victims.

On 05/17/2023, a patrol officer spotted Chavez near 28th and Park Street. Chavez was arrested without incident. Chavez was transported to the SLO County Jail and booked on four felony charges: 211 PC – robbery, 207 PC – kidnapping, 459 PC – burglary, and 182(a)(1) PC conspiracy.
