Paso Robles Emergency Services Contain Kitchen Fire Friday Night

PASO ROBLES, CA – On Friday, May 17, 2025, at approximately 8:24 p.m., Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to a reported structure fire at 818 Sycamore Canyon.

First-arriving firefighters were on scene within four minutes and observed moderate smoke coming from the front and side of the residence. Fire crews quickly made entry, rescued a large dog from inside the home, and successfully contained the fire to the kitchen area. No residents were home at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported.

A total of three fire engines and a battalion chief from Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to the scene. Through the City’s automatic aid agreement, an additional fire engine and battalion chief from CAL FIRE/San Luis Obispo County Fire Department and one engine from Atascadero Fire Department also responded. Paso Robles Police Department and San Luis Ambulance provided additional assistance.

Paso Robles Emergency Services Responds To Vegetation Fire

PASO ROBLES, CA – At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to reports of a vegetation fire behind 1811 North River Road.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered approximately one-quarter acre of vegetation burning in the riverbed area, involving trees and heavy brush. Fire crews acted quickly, containing the fire within 20 minutes. Full extinguishment was completed within the following hour.

A total of three fire engines and one Battalion Chief from Paso Robles responded to the incident. In accordance with the City’s automatic aid agreements, two fire engines and one Battalion Chief from Cal Fire/San Luis Obispo County Fire Department also responded. In total, fifteen firefighters were involved in the response, with the Paso Robles Police Department providing traffic control support.

The cause of the fire has been determined to be related to homeless activity in the area.

Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services reminds residents to remain vigilant and report any signs of smoke or fire activity, especially during the dry season.

Paso Robles Police Investigate Death Of A 6 Year Old

PASO ROBLES – On Saturday, May 10th, 2025, at about 5:57 pm, the Paso Robles Police Department was notified by the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department regarding the death of a 6-year-old boy at Twin Cities Hospital, in Templeton. Officers responded to the hospital and started an investigation. Due to the seriousness of the incident, the Paso Robles Police Department Detective Bureau was called out to investigate the circumstances.

The initial investigation indicates the child was transported to the hospital by his father, Briant ReyesEstrada, 27, of Paso Robles. It is suspected the child sustained life-threatening injuries, possibly heat related, while inside a vehicle, which ultimately resulted in his death. Detectives believe ReyesEstrada’s vehicle may have been parked in the Paso Robles Inn parking lot for several hours prior to the incident.

Briant ReyesEstrada was arrested for 187(a) PC, murder, and 273a(a) PC, willful harm/injury to child, likely to produce great bodily injury. ReyesEstrada was booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail. ReyesEstrada is being held without bail.

The Paso Robles Police Department is working closely with partner agencies to conduct a thorough investigation. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.

Paso Robles Police Investigate Online Gaming Concern Monday Morning

PASO ROBLES – On May 5, 2025 at approximately 11:00am, staff at the Paso Robles High School alerted the school resource officer of an online comment that raised concerns about the safety of campus. The threat was not credible. All students and staff are safe.

This incident is an opportunity to talk to your child about the appropriate use of gaming chats/social media and remind them that their actions and words have consequences.

Fire Department Crews Extinguish Structure Fire Saturday Morning In Paso Robles

PASO ROBLES, CA – On Saturday April 19, 2025, at 9:06 AM., Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to a report of residential structure fire on Pacific Ave.

Firefighters arrived at scene to discover smoke emitting from the attic vents and active fire in the kitchen. One occupant was home at the time of the fire and sustained minor burns to the hand, but no fire personnel were injured. The fire was quickly contained to the kitchen before it fully extended into the attic.

Due to simultaneous calls, two fire engines and one Battalion Chief from Paso Robles responded. Under the City’s automatic aid agreement, one engine and one Battalion Chief from CAL FIRE/SLO County, with one additional engine requested, and one engine from Atascadero Fire immediately responded to assist. The American Red Cross is assisting the occupant with housing while repairs are completed on the structure.

Paso Robles Police Investigate Shooting Saturday Night

PASO ROBLES, CA – On April 12, 2025, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the Paso Robles Police Department received multiple reports of gunshots heard in the 3500 block of Park Street.

Shortly before officers arrived on scene, PRPD dispatch was notified that a male subject had arrived at a local hospital seeking treatment for two non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victim was able to provide only limited details about the incident.

Officers responded to the area and located multiple spent shell casings in the roadway, confirming that a shooting had occurred.

The suspect is described as a slender male wearing a black ski mask, a blue hooded sweatshirt, and black jeans.

Paso Robles Police Investigate Deceased Body In Riverbed Sunday Morning

On 03/30/25 at approximately 0800 hours, Paso Robles Police received a call regarding a possible deceased subject in the riverbed near the intersections of Hwy 46E and Hwy 101. Patrol Units arrived and confirmed a white male adult was deceased. There was no immediate and obvious signs of physical trauma to the body. The Detective Bureau is investigating this case, and the deceased has been identified. That identity will not be released pending notification of next of kin. This case will remain open pending toxicology and an autopsy to determine the cause of death. This is normal procedure for cases of an “unattended” death case.

Paso Robles Police Make Arrest Following Vehicle Pursuit Saturday Night

PASO ROBLES – On Saturday, March 29th, 2025, the Paso Robles Police Department responded to report of a possible DUI vehicle driving in the center of the roadway on Spring

Officers located and stopped the vehicle in the 400 block of Spring Street. During the stop, the vehicle fled from officers northbound on Spring Street. The pursuit entered the downtown area and Officers attempted to box the vehicle in, however were unsuccessful. Shortly after, Officers were able to successfully deploy spike strips which stopped the vehicle in the 1200 block of Spring Street. The driver was apprehended and identified as Luis Urrea 27, San Diego. Luis Urrea was arrested for 2800.2 VC (reckless evasion), and was booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail.

Paso Robles Police Make DUI Arrest Monday Night

PASO ROBLES – On Monday, March 24, 2025, the Paso Robles Police Department responded to the intersection of State Route 46 East and Golden Hill Road, regarding a traffic collision involving two vehicles, 2020 Ford Truck and a 2015 Jeep. The driver of the Ford was conscious but complained of head and neck pain. The driver of the Jeep was no longer on scene and witnesses reported him running north toward Eagle Energy Gas Station.

Officers arrived on-scene within two minutes of being dispatched and began investigating the collision and searching for the Jeep driver. Paso Robles Emergency Services, along with San Luis Ambulance, also quickly arrived on scene and attend to the Ford driver. The Ford driver was transported to a local area hospital for further medical attention.

Officers located the suspect, Peter Terence Wells (49-years-old, Bakersfield, CA), hiding in the parking lot of Eagle Energy Gas Station, 2400 Golden Hill Rd. Wells attempted to run from officers, but he was quickly taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. Wells showed obvious signs of alcohol intoxication at the time he was placed under arrest. Wells also had sustained visible injuries from the traffic collision and was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Wells was medically cleared and later booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail for felony DUI and felony hit-and-run, along with other misdemeanor violations.

Enforcement Team Makes Narcotic And Weapons Arrest In Paso Robles

Paso Robles (CA) – On 03/13/2025, officers from the Paso Robles Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team (SET) served a search warrant on a storage unit located near San Miguel. The warrant was obtained after two narcotic detection K9’s, Paso Robles Police K9 “Griff’ and Atascadero Police Department K9

“Maverick”, both indicated to the presence of narcotic odor coming from a storage unit. During the search of the storage unit, 2.5 ounces of fentanyl was located, along with a .22 Ruger handgun with the serial numbers removed. The storage unit was rented out by suspect Chris Boerner of Paso Robles.

A secondary warrant was served on Boerner’s residence, located in Paso Robles, and vehicle. Boerner was located driving his vehicle in Paso Robles, where he was stopped and arrested. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered a hidden safe in the seat headrest that contained fentanyl, cash, and evidence of drug sales.

Officers then served the search warrant on Boerner’s residence and located additional fentanyl, cocaine, cash, drug paraphernalia, and evidence of narcotic sales. The total of the seized evidence was:

•67 pounds (311 grams) of suspected fentanyl and cocaine (mixed)

$14,715 in US currency

Scales and drug paraphernalia.

The following suspects were arrested for several felony violations as a result of this narcotics investigation:

Christopher Boerner (44) of Paso Robles for possession of a controlled substance for sale (felony), possession of a firearm by restricted person (felony), false compartment to conceal narcotics (felony), and conspiracy to distribute narcotics (felony).

Carrie Cassidy (41) of Paso Robles for possession of controlled substance for sale (felony) and child endangerment (felony).

Both suspects were transported to County Jail on the aforementioned charges.
