Vegetation Fire Quickly Contained in Paso Robles Riverbed

PASO ROBLES, CA – August 1, 2025 – At approximately 2:13 PM on Friday, Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to a reported vegetation fire at 3200 Sulfur Springs Road, located in the Salinas Riverbed area.

First-arriving units were on scene within three minutes and reported an active fire burning approximately a quarter acre of vegetation. Paso Robles Fire deployed three engines and one battalion chief to the incident.

In accordance with the City’s automatic aid agreement, additional resources were dispatched, including four engines, a battalion chief, a deputy chief, a bulldozer, and a water tender from CAL FIRE/San Luis Obispo County. tascadero Fire also responded with one engine, and the Paso Robles Polic epartment assisted with scene coordinatio

Thanks to the swift and coordinated response, 35 personnel on scene were abl o contain the fire by approximately 2:35 PM

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Police Conduct Probation/Parole Compliance Check

PASO ROBLES (CA)- On Monday, July 14, 2025, the Paso Robles Police Department, along with the San Luis Obispo County Probation Department, State Parole, Atascadero Police Department, and San Luis Obispo Police Department conducted a city-wide Probation / Parole Compliance Operation, focused on offender accountability and community safety. Twenty-three subjects were contacted based on their parole or probation status. Officers located several items of illegal contraband and seized cocaine (1 gram), drug paraphernalia, and ammunition. The following subjects were arrested and were booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail:

Joshua Reynolds (32 years of age from Paso Robles) – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Violation of Probation.

Angelica Lopez (51 years of age from Paso Robles)- Under the Influence of Controlled Substance and Violation of Probation.

Danielle Mitchell (59 years of age from Paso Robles) – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Todd Wern (46 years of age from Paso Robles) – Possession of Ammunition and Violation of Probation.

Alexis Nusicolsidro (28 years of age from Paso Robles) – Possession of Controlled Substance and Violation of Probation.

Commercial Structure Fire At Templeton Feed And Grain

Templeton, CA – At approximately 11:06 p.m. on Friday, July 4th, Templeton Fire and Emergency Services was dispatched to 405 S. Main Street in response to fire alarms ringing, indicating a possible structure fire at Templeton Feed and Grain.

Upon arrival, the first unit reported a working structure fire with heavy smoke emanating from the building, prompting an immediate upgrade to a second alarm. A total of ten fire engines, three ladder trucks, a breathing support unit, and three Chief Officers from multiple agencies throughout San Luis Obispo County are currently working to extinguish the fire. Responding agencies include Templeton Fire, Paso Robles Fire, Atascadero Fire, San Luis City Fire, CAL FIRE/SLO County Fire, and San Miguel Fire, totaling 42 firefighters on scene. In addition, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol (CHP), Paso Robles Police Department, and San Luis Ambulance have joined efforts to assist with medical response, traffic control, and lane closures. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The incident is expected to continue for several days, and in light of ongoing firefighting efforts, the Templeton Community Services District is urging all Templeton residents to limit water usage where possible to support firefighting operations. A large volume of water is necessary to help combat the blaze, and your cooperation will be greatly appreciated during this critical time.

Main Street in Templeton is closed to all pedestrian and vehicular traffic from 4th Street to 6th Street. We ask the public to avoid the area as emergency crews continue their work.

Paso Robles Fire Department Introduces New Fire Engine

PASO ROBLES, CA – On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services officially placed a new fire engine into service at Fire Station 1.

The new Pierce engine replaces the previous Engine 8191, which has faithfully served the community since 2013 and responded to 2,076 incidents in the past year alone. With the addition of the new engine, the department aims to enhance reliability and improve emergency response capabilities for the citizens of Paso Robles.

To commemorate this milestone, department personnel participated in a traditional

“push-in” ceremony—a time-honored fire service ritual that dates back to the horse-drawn era. This symbolic act reflects the teamwork and dedication of those who serve.

This important purchase was made possible thanks to funding from Measure J-20, the supplemental sales tax approved by Paso Robles voters in 2020. The department expresses its gratitude to the community for their ongoing support.

Fire Crews Contain Vegetation Fire Friday Afternoon

PASO ROBLES, CA – At approximately 1:40 p.m. on Friday June 27th, Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services was dispatched to the area of Hwy 101 and 46 East in the Salinas Riverbed for a reported vegetation fire.

The first arriving unit reported approximately 1/4-acre fire burning within the Salinas Riverbed. Crews were able to contain the fire at approximately 1/2 acre.

Three fire engines and two Chief Officers from Paso Robles responded. Under the cities Automatic Aid Agreement, three additional fire engines, one bulldozer, two hand crews, one Battalion Chief, one air attack plane from Cal Fire/SLO County Fire, and adjacent communities responded. A total of 60 firefighters contained the fire in two hours.

Additionally, Paso Robles Police Department responded to assist with traffic and lane closures. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Fire Crews Contain Vegetation Fire Early Saturday Morning

PASO ROBLES, CA – At approximately 12:41 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to reports of a vegetation fire in the riverbed just south of Highway 46 East.

Fire crews arrived within four minutes to find roughly one-quarter acre of trees and heavy brush actively burning. Thanks to a rapid and coordinated response, the fire was contained within 30 minutes, with full extinguishment achieved within three hours.

The incident prompted a multi-agency response involving three fire engines and one Battalion Chief from Paso Robles, as well as two fire engines, one Battalion Chief, and a bulldozer from Cal Fire/San Luis Obispo County Fire Department under automatic aid agreements. In total, 20 firefighters were deployed. The Paso Robles Police Department provided traffic control support.

Investigators have determined the fire originated from homeless activity in the area.

Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services urges residents to stay alert during the dry season and to report any signs of smoke or fire immediately.

One Person Succumbed To Injuries Following Traffic Collision Wednesday Night

PASO ROBLES, CA – On Wednesday , June 18th the Paso Robles Police Department Traffic Division responded for a traffic collision with injury on Highway 46E, at the intersection with Mill Road.

At approximately 9:31 p.m., PRPD dispatch received a call for a two-vehicle traffic collision with injuries. When Officers arrived on scene, it was determined the two involved vehicles were blocking Highway 46E in both eastbound and westbound lanes.

Both occupants of one of the vehicles involved were extricated from their vehicle by Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services and were later transported to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. The driver ultimately succumbed to his injuries while at the hospital.

Paso Robles Fire Along with SLO County Fire Agencies Respond To Vegetation Fire

PASO ROBLES, CA – At approximately 4:50 p.m. on Thursday June 12th, Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services was dispatched to the area North of Niblick Bridge in the Salinas Riverbed for a reported vegetation fire.

The first arriving unit reported approximately 1/2-acre fire burning within the Salinas Riverbed, to the west of Wendy’s. Crews were able to contain the fire at approximately three acres. Due to the recently grazed firebreaks, crew were able to safely engage the fire and protect critical infrastructure in the area.

Three fire engines and three Chief Officers from Paso Robles responded. Under the cities Automatic and Mutual Aid Agreements, five additional fire engines, one bulldozer, two hand crews, one Battalion Chief, one air attack plane from Cal Fire/SLO County Fire, and adjacent communities responded. A total of 65 firefighters contained the fire in less than an hour. Additionally, Paso Robles Police Department responded to assist with traffic and road closures. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Paso Robles Emergency Services Respond To Early Morning Structure Fire

PASO ROBLES, CA — On Saturday, June 7, 2025, at approximately 5:07 AM, Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to a reported commercial structure fire at 2508 Spring Street in Paso Robles.

The first arriving unit found a fully involved deck and tree on fire, threatening the structure. Paso Robles fire crews were able to quickly knock down the fire before it extended into the building, allowing additional responding resources to be cancelled. No injuries were reported.

Two fire engines, one truck, and one Battalion Chief from Paso Robles responded. Under the City’s automatic aid agreements, two fire engines and one Battalion Chief from CAL FIRE/San Luis Obispo County Fire, along with a truck from Atascadero Fire, also responded to assist. The Paso Robles Police Department and San Luis Ambulance provided additional support.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Paso Robles Police Investigate Towards Elementary School

PASO ROBLES – On 05/27/2025 at approximately 1pm, Paso Robles Police Department school resource officers were notified of a possible threat towards students and staff at Virginia Peterson Elementary School. The messages occurred over the weekend and through social media.

After a joint investigation with the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District, it was determined the threat was not credible.
