PASO ROBLES, CA – Capital improvement construction begins Monday, July 13 along Creston Road, from Niblick Road to just past Orchard Drive. The project includes roadway rehabilitation and paving, underground utility upgrades, new sidewalks and ADA improvements, enhanced bicycle lanes, and construction of a new roundabout at Rolling Hills Road. To expedite the roundabout construction, Rolling Hills Road will be closed to through traffic from Creston Road to Golden Hill Road, with access from Golden Hill Road for residences and the Children’s Academy Montessori only.

The project is proceeding in two areas concurrently, to minimize impacts on the community. In addition to the City’s work improving Creston Road, improvements to the turn lanes at Creston Road and Niblick Road will start July 15, funded through an agreement with the developer of the Vinedo project going on out Linne east.

Creston Road is expected to remain open to traffic in both directions throughout the project, with traffic controls and temporary lane adjustments as necessary. During the full closure of Rolling Hills Road, only residents and customers of the Montessori school will be allowed through from Golden Hill Road, and turns from Creston Road to Rolling Hills Road will not be permitted.

Details on the three concurrent project areas are:

The approximately $17.8 million second phase of the Creston Road Corridor Improvements project is funded through a combination of sources, including a $3 million allocation secured by State Senator John Laird. Locally, primary funding is provided through voter-approved sales tax measures J-20, supporting public safety through road and street maintenance, and Measure I-24, which dedicates revenue to maintaining and improving the City’s transportation infrastructure. These measures reflect the community’s continued investment in local road maintenance and capital improvement projects.

As the City makes these critical improvements, residents are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow posted traffic control signage while construction is underway. Project updates, construction information, and traffic advisories will be available atprcity.com/crestonroad.
