PASO ROBLES, CA – On Saturday July 4th, 2026, at approximately 2:45 PM Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 600 block of Brookhill Dr. in Paso Robles.

First arriving firefighters found smoke and fire inside a 2-car garage with fire extending into the living space of the duplex style residence. Firefighters were able to stop the fire in the garage space and limit extension into the living space and adjacent home.

Firefighters worked to prevent smoke and water damage to the occupant’s belongings and remainder of the structure.

Residents were home at the time and were notified of the fire by an alert neighbor. Both occupants and their dog were able to safely evacuate prior to first arriving units.

Two fire engines, one ladder truck, one squad and one Battalion Chief from Paso Robles responded. Under the City’s automatic aid agreements, one fire engine and one Battalion Chief from Cal Fire / SLO County Fire and one fire engine from Atascadero Fire all responded to assist. A total of 18 firefighters responded to the incident with additional assistance from both Paso Robles Police Department and San Luis Ambulance Service.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services reminds all residents to ensure they have working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in their residence.
