PASO ROBLES, CA – On Saturday June 13th, 2026, at approximately 7:55 PM, Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to a vegetation fire which started in the Salinas Riverbed, south of the Niblick Bridge.

First arriving firefighters encountered an active vegetation fire burning through thick vegetation in the middle of the riverbed. Due to the recently grazed firebreaks, crews were able to safely access the fire and quickly stop forward progress of the fire. The fire was contained to 0.40 acres, and there were no reported injuries.

Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded with two Fire Engines, one Ladder Truck, one Paramedic Squad, one Fire Investigator, and one Battalion Chief. Under the City’s automatic aid agreement, CAL FIRE / San Luis Obispo County Fire responded with one Battalion Chief, one Dozer, one Hand Crew, and four Fire Engines. In total, 38 firefighters were involved in extinguishing the fire. Paso Robles Police Department also assisted with the response.

The fire is currently under investigation.
