Approximately 9:35 a.m., City staff were notified of a sinkhole at the intersection of Niblick Road and Creston Road. City crews responded immediately to assess the situation and begin repair work.

Based on initial assessments, crews anticipate that evaluating the extent of the damage and completing the necessary repairs may take up to 12 hours. The cause of the sinkhole remains under investigation.

Due to the size and location of a damaged water line beneath the roadway, and to ensure crews have safe and unrestricted access to the work area, the intersection has been closed to all traffic until further notice.

The following road closures are currently in effect:

Niblick Road at Creston Road (all directions)

Creston Road at Niblick Road (all directions)

Sherwood Road at the Niblick/Creston intersection (all directions)

Traffic control measures are in place, and motorists are advised to follow all posted signage and directions from traffic control personnel. Travelers should use alternate routes and avoid the area while repairs are underway.

Nearby businesses may experience impacts due to the road closures; however, every effort is being made to maintain access where possible and minimize disruption.

The City will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as additional information becomes available or if traffic control measures change.
