On March 5, 2026, at approximately 9:55 PM, officers from the Paso Robles Police Department responded to the 3300 block of Spring Street in Paso Robles regarding a report of a male suspect pointing a handgun at another male’s head while telling the victim he “was going to die.”

The victim was able to escape from the suspect and was not injured. The suspect fled north from the area and was not located at that time.

On March 8, 2026, Detectives from the Paso Robles Police Department continued the investigation and identified the suspect as, Irvin Hernandez, a 31-year-old male. Detectives were able to locate Hernandez’s whereabouts and obtained both an arrest warrant and a search warrant for the apartment where he was staying.

At approximately 3:00 PM, members of the San Luis Obispo Regional SWAT Team assisted in serving the search warrant at Hernandez’s apartment in the 3400 block of Spring Street.

A portion of the apartment complex was evacuated for safety reasons, and Hernandez was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported.
