PASO ROBLES – On Thursday, December 4, 2025, at about 5:30 a.m., officers and paramedics responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Golden Hill Road and State Route 46. The vehicles involved were a white four-door Lexus and a 2017 green and white Freightliner box truck.

The driver of the Lexus, a 63-year-old Paso Robles man, had been stopped at a red light on westbound SR-46 at Golden Hill Road. The Freightliner, also traveling westbound, approached the intersection and failed to slow, striking the Lexus from behind. The impact killed the driver of the Lexus.
The Freightliner’s driver, 25-year-old Gean Marco HuamanCastro of Bakersfield, was arrested for vehicular manslaughter and later booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing. At this time, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision.
