The City of Paso Robles is proud to announce the implementation of its Paramedic Squad, effective Sunday, November 9, 2025. This milestone underscores the City’s continued commitment to public safety and delivering exceptional emergency medical care to the community.
The launch of this specialized unit is made possible through the leadership and support of the Paso Robles City Council, the trust and partnership of our community, and dedicated funding from Measure J-20. Together, these collective efforts reflect a shared vision for strengthening emergency response and improving outcomes for those we serve.
As our community grows and emergency medical needs evolve, we remain focused on advancing a modern, efficient, and responsive public safety system. The Paramedic Squad is a proactive step forward, one that ensures our residents continue to receive the highest level of care when they need it most.
Medical emergencies account for the majority of 9-1-1 calls within the city. The Paramedic Squad is designed to rapidly respond to medical incidents with highly trained paramedics and Advanced Life Support capabilities. This approach ensures paramedic-level care arrives quickly, while preserving fire engines and specialized equipment for fires, rescues, and other complex emergencies.
By aligning emergency resources with real-time service needs, the Paramedic Squad improves unit availability, enhances operational efficiency, and strengthens system readiness during simultaneous incidents. It also supports faster access to advanced lifesaving interventions and helps reduce wear and operational costs associated with heavy fire apparatus.
This initiative is part of a comprehensive, data-driven strategy to enhance emergency medical services citywide.
This is not a reactive measure; it is a forward-looking, patient-centered investment in the health, safety, and resilience of Paso Robles, both today and for the future.
The City of Paso Robles extends sincere appreciation to the community for its continued support as we modernize and strengthen our emergency response capabilities.
