PASO ROBLES, CA – This week’s storm is associated with an “Atmospheric River” bringing potential for significant rainfall and wind gusts up to 45 mph in the Paso Robles area. The storm is expected to be heaviest Thursday morning into Thursday evening. The peak precipitation rates are potentially up to 1″ per hour and several inches of rain is expected.

City staff have been preparing by monitoring and addressing storm drain systems, clearing out debris from flood prone areas, preparing equipment for immediate response and making staff available to respond to problems as they arise.

Free Sand for residents is available at the City Streets Yard, 1220 Paso Robles Street.

Residents must bring their own sandbags and shovels, and load materials themselves.

Saturated ground and winds associated with these storms increase the potential for downed trees and power lines. Always be aware of your surroundings, drive safely, stay clear of downed utility lines, and avoid all water crossings.
