PASO ROBLES – On 12/12/2024 at approximately 12:50pm, a student reported to staff they heard of a person near the campus of Lewis Flamson Junior High in possession of a firearm.

There was also a report of a loud bang. Based on that information, the SRO initiated a lockdown and requested additional PRPD backup.

PRPD reported to the school site within 4 minutes and secured the campus while the administration started an investigation. PRPD detained and searched a juvenile just off campus.

Several students were interviewed, and it was determined that nobody saw a firearm.

Upon arrival, officers conducted a thorough search of the school campus and surrounding area.

After an extensive investigation, no firearm or evidence of gunfire was found, and no injuries or victims were located. The situation was determined to be a false alarm.

Once all students were accounted for and the site had been thoroughly searched and determined to be safe, the lockdown was lifted. No firearm was found and no evidence of gunfire was discovered. School was dismissed at the regularly scheduled time.

The Paso Robles Joint Unified School District and Paso Robles Police Department takes any report of potential threats seriously. This response reflects our commitment to protecting our schools and ensuring the safety of everyone involved.
